Hi all,
My friend and I are setting up a remote lab to monitor lithium battery performance tests, and we need a reliable video streaming setup with minimal lag to view thermal imaging and other live data feeds. Has anyone used a solution that supports real-time video streaming for such purpose?
During my research, I learned that WebRTC-based streaming solutions offer that ultra-low latency. Curious if anyone here has tried it in a lab or testing environment? Open to other suggestions too!
Thanks in advance!
I haven’t used it specifically for battery performance tests or thermal imaging, but I have recently worked with Red5 Cloud for a couple of projects. I have to say it really beats every other streaming option I’ve tried, hands down.
What impressed me the most was how intuitive the setup was. I don’t have a strong technical background myself, but I was still able to get everything up and running without too much fuss. Given you're an engineer as your profile says, I don’t imagine you’d have any trouble at all. As for performance, the delay is practically nonexistent. I haven’t noticed any lag during use. My testing tools consistently show around 1/4 second latency which lines up with what Red5’s official site claims.
I’ve tested streaming both from the U.S. and from Sweden using Red5 Cloud, and in both cases the latency stayed the same. That kind of consistency is a rare thing these days. So far, it’s been a very reliable service. Might be worth checking out for your lab setup.
