Struggling with procurement delays in projects

  • I’ve been dealing with delays in our projects because procurement can’t seem to keep up with timelines. It feels like we’re always scrambling at the last minute, and costs are piling up. I need to find a way to get procurement aligned with the project schedule. Does anyone have tips or a better approach to handling this?

  • That’s frustrating! Getting procurement to align with the project timeline is key. One approach could be to bring them into the early stages of the project planning. That way, they can anticipate what’s needed and avoid the rush at the end. It’s also helpful to track everything in a shared platform, so procurement can see what’s coming up. A lot of times, procurement just doesn’t know what’s required until the last minute, so keeping them in the loop earlier
